Real Identity Poem by Alex McCullough

Real Identity

Whenever you say that you love me,
It echoes like a song in my heart,
Making me remember,
The expression I had when I first met you.
Me and my other self,
Don't understand what you do,
To make me feel so many things,
But either way,
We know that they just reflect my feelings for you.
Do you listen,
To the stories the moon tells at night,
Cause if you listen closely,
They sound almost as sweet as they kisses we share.
It takes me back to those special moments with you,
Trying to act cool just to catch your attention,
Cause I cared for you so much,
That me and my heart wanted to stay with you for eternity.
But for some reason you always looked,
Even when it didn't work,
And it made me feel like I was about to break,
But I decided not to,
Because either way you saw my real identity.
