Rape Poem by Tom Billsborough

Rape

To herself alone she sings
And strums on her guitar
And to her destiny belongs
This sad, melodic air.

Her eyes half close
Her feet pound out a beat
But nothing can erase
The gnawing pain of guilt.

While in the woods a wolf
May howl it cannot match
Her cries, nor cruel thief
Who stole her precious faith.

Stupendous write. Every line in this magnificent poem delivers pain and agony. A vivid portrayal of a woman's honor betrayed and taken away through a despicable act. The poet made me cry for this woman. The last stanza is very gripping.10+++ On to my Poem List.
