Rape Poem by Lacii Taylor

Rape

Take a rape victim for example, and once it's revealed.
When her bruises go away, is she totally healed?
Naw, the damage is lasting, you can see it in her eyes.
But if it was just abused recreation, why did it ruin her life?
I mean if sex is just for fun, why does it take a such a toll on us?
Maybe because you don't have sex with the body,
You make love to the soul.

But he didn't love her, didn't make love to her.
He, a random man, took away her innocence,
The one thing she desperately tried to hold on too.
But no matter how loud she screamed and tried to get away.
He got what he wanted,
Her innocence.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

You are voicing out for the victims. As long as the communities and the nations do not have the culture of protecting the innocence of their young, teen aged children and even the innocent adults, this problem will prevail to haunt the victims and their families...
