Rain-Clouds In Bloom Poem by Nika McGuin

Rain-Clouds In Bloom

The days have been long
and hot; all cracks and sizzles
and some things have fizzled
into utter nothingness

Oh, but here comes the rain's pitter-patter
and its grey clouds in bloom
it is daunting and feels like a setback
I had plans, you see

filled with rainwater my heart swells
like the ocean, its depths unknown
like a flower at the brink of wilting
as rain falls down I, perk up just a little

My emotions and the explications
that belong to them are
somewhere, just out sight
through these thick sheets of rainfall

and so, I am...

drowning in my heart
lost in a corner of my mind
fumbling in this jet downpour of confusion
soaked, in blue petals
