I invoke a great poem* by Thomas Hardy
and Phoenician goddess of Love, Astarte.

As the quiz show ages
and grows scrunty,
it guesses you don't know Greek.

'Which phobia, ' it asks,
'is fear of the crayfish or lobster? '
A astaco- B stakto-
C astatkio- D asticho-

The lucky contestant,
a poet,
mutters what sounds like 'old and mean',
and says, 'I don't know,
but I'll give astaco- a go.'

2 - an excerpt: " Till the dawn I rubbed, when there leered up at me A hag, that had slowly emerged from under my hands there, Pointing the slanted finger towards a bosom Eaten away of a rot from the lusts of a lifetime"
