Questions Poem by Leon RoachLord, PhD

Questions

Why do you hate me?
Is it difficult to love me?
What have I done?

I feel no hatred towards you,
but your hatred which is so strong
angry and overwhelming.

Why do you hate me?
When all I offer is my love for you.
All I seek, need, want, and desire,
is for you to love me.
There is nothing you can say, do, or feel,
I know I did not reject you.

There's nothing you can take way, or deny,
because I am still your father!
Why do you hate me?

My daughter, my seed, you are part of me,
I love you most because you are part of me.
When I offered my love, even though
your hatred was strong, eating, gnawing away.
I still love you

Why do you hate me?
