Quarter Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Quarter

Quarter

Money comes, money goes as do clouds in the year
But sometimes memories have remained, will remain.

Include “Quarter”.

Food Basics’ green carts are taken by neighbours
To release, get permit, they insert quarter.

My shopping was not there.

Parked my car, bags many and heavy, needed help
Of a cart to load all and carry in one lot; searched.

Fourth floor, found couple.

Somebody was smart, connected two of them
Removed coin; to release I needed quarter.

Inserted quarter.

Used the cart and later did something, I do not.
Returned cart, connected, removed my quarter.

Memorial quarter.
