Pronunciation Downunder
English would need a dozen or more
aids to pronunciation,
so it does without any;
and forgives or pokes fun at
foreigners' failings many.
A Queenslander in South Australia,
I am pardoned or laughed at
for saying cassle not carsle,
for not saying charnce,
for saying graff not grarf,
and for not saying advarnce.
I'm not an American,
I don't say laff for larf.
