Price Hike Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Price Hike

Price Hike

You and I do recall price hike
Of fuel, in the time of Late Shah.

Two and half it became, in Rial
From two, and after a long time.

Cars, taxis and other vehicles
All stopped driving, giving ride
To people in cities, passengers;
So, Rio, the trucks of soldiers
Drove us; a free replacement.

I was young and had joy, lot of fun
There was no dead, neither was blood.

Now, look me in the eye
Yes, I mean you, Mullahs
You who wear Ammameh
To replace kingly Taj
But deserve the Naalain
And living in Hojreh…

Wish did not have to use
The words so difficult
To show your lifestyle…

Is sitting on Menbar still
Same, as was in Shabestan?

No, of course power has corrupted
And added to greed, wanting wealth,
Luxury, best Aba with women….

You are, now, shame to the religion
And Koran, Prophet and Hussein.

And for us, the people of Iran
You are pain in the ass not in neck.

To show you, talk of you, any way
Makes us worse by being embarrassed.
