Prayer Poem by Srivishnu Rentala

Prayer

Rating: 4.0

Oh dear lord! Shower me some love
to soothe the writhe that besieges me.
In pain I look up to the heavens above,
As I religiously worship thee.
Would it hurt to deluge blessings;
to comfort my aching soul,
to destroy all things depressing,
to lead me to my goal.

Despite one too many a prayer,
you seem contented with neglect.
All I ask for, is strength to not err.
This once, O lord, please take effect.
For if You can't enlighten me,
Then I'm afraid there's no power that can.
