Please Tell Time Poem by Rich Harney

Please Tell Time

Please tell Time ; I wanted to court her,
Tell him; the old fashion way.
With daisies at noon
I stole from a meadow,
but purple arrows missed me
by ten thousand days

Tell him his century was wrong
by the moment
We'd stand before moonlight
shivering a kiss
but time had it's pleasure
in some other season
only a cupid
would venture to guess.

Tell him the measures of time
might look rose - e -er,
surely that century had
missed her parade,
As, I here - she there
and oceans of moments
the poets left empty
and sadness of days!

Please tell time
I'm fixed in daydreaming
She reaches for my heart
through hours of tears
Tell him my eyes
are searching the meadow
for flowers remembered
or' ten thousand years.
