Rabbit Hole Poem by Rich Harney

Rabbit Hole

A rabbit glanced at me, Hello!
Then down his labyrinth
I so in want of chase eschewed
Knife and fork and spoon.

I canceled many calories,
Dates and many plates,
Till I was left a bone parade
Cause what I didn't, ate!

Finally, I scurried down
A bubbling rabbit bur,
A million little cottontails
On a rabbit splurge!

I winded down an avenue,
A crowded one for sure,
When one upon a carrot said
What are you doing sir?

I replied; I want adventure,
Another corporality
He said you've chosen
Quite the lair for your queer oddity!

It's not as strange as what appears
I've got another muse, I said,
I'm going round from door to door
And standing on my head!

You look a laugh of skin and bone
You must entrance the bonnets.
Alas' I settled in a nook
And dreamed upon a sonnet!
