Please Laugh At My Pain Poem by Alyssa Marquardt

Please Laugh At My Pain

.Please,

laugh at my pain.

Please,

drag me into the rain.

Laughter is healing,

And raindrops are my life.

I'm caught up in pain,

I'm caught up in strife.

I need to let go.

So show me how to breathe.

I'm begging you to hide my discrete.

Drag me into the street,

Let me lie on the pavement.

Let me sing in the dark.

Take me to the park;

I'll swing while my hair floats in the breeze.

Life floating from a birch tree.

Drag me into that space

Where I feel my tears

And embrace my fears.

I know you can take me there.

I know I can feel cold, fresh air.

Don't hesitate-

My heart can't wait.

I need to hear the laughter

of the baby in my soul.

I need to lose control.

Take me there.

Take me to the rain.

And please,

Oh please,

I'm begging you please.

To laugh at my pain.
