Ode To A Parents Love Poem by Alyssa Marquardt

You are like the glowing moon,
That guides the traveler on it’s way.
You works with the light of day.
And when the sun shines bright on me,
And I feel like I'm on top of the Ben,
You will be hiding, not so well hidden,
Ready to come out when things get dark again.
When the road ahead is unknown,
and I think that I’m alone.
I look back and you’ll be there.
To encourage, and cherish and sincerely care.
Your evidence reflects off the black, shiny lake,
And the light is there for me to take.
To keep me safe,
To give me faith.
To give me hope and great beliefs,
That throughout all the journeys,
I can achieve.
You are the touch of light on my shoulder
A hug of comfort in the dark.
You’re the encouragement that sends my heart a spark.
You are a thing called a parent’s love.
And I thank you for shining your light from the world up above.
