Playing A Prominent Role Poem by Tanec Rayl

Playing A Prominent Role

when the man who opens your eyes takes your name
there is no beating the weather
the crowd sings, diseased rings
tell us all a story we'd rather not hear

Silas, your forest is ridiculous
compliant, and therefore overshadowed
yet you remain on high; imperious
surviving both of your betters in excellence
cast in pewter, frozen in stone
as I, deserving of a better shell than this
stumble dejectedly to my judgment

i prefer the title: `Playing a more prominent role'.. because this entails a comparison, am i right, an alluding emphasis? loftier than some of your others. Just as idealistic. magnifies the grappling projection: hope is a spiritual clap. care, sjg
