Got A Dollar Poem by Tanec Rayl

Got A Dollar

I have a well-defined centre but no discernible circumference
In winter, I eat ice cream: survival can be difficult
my heart rate slows down and my body temperature drops
I fumble with THOUGHTS and FEELINGS

months go by while you're waiting for responses
I fog, I forget what the flavours were
strange decisions are made about messages
people ask me if I am religious

I'm not, but I am on a crusade
people need to be warned about halogen lights
they need to stop reading my mind, wasting time
simple circles and complex designs, broadly-similar mysteries
there's nothing new about change

your nose drips, but you say nothing
silence is consent
