Plankton Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Plankton

Rating: 4.5

Plankton

They call me: "Crazy, "
I agree…

I, a worm, was picked up
By a bird for her chicks
Scared of the crow or jackal
Bird flew to escape.

Tired and exhausted
When her beaks half opened
I was loose, therefore, fell
From heights, in water…

My habit, way of life
Was on earth, to crawl…

Pond or lake, sea, ocean
To me were, all the same,
Strange was water…

My world changed with that fall,
I was saved half-drowned…

Waves took me to the bank
Where the mud and grass
Sheltered me, kept alive.

They call me: "Crazy, "
I agree…

Among these creatures
I was born by mistake
And living is mistake.

Worms know not plankton
That I saw and define.

My dear grandchild
Follow your father's want,
Go and get some basket,
Set me in, out of door.
