Plain And Simple Poem by deborah mae lacay

Plain And Simple

i could see nothing but desire
something deeper is just hanging upon a wire
there's nothing more i could expect
but plain and simple fondness minus the spark..

when you look at me, my heart laments
there was chemistry, a fusion of elements
but nothing more than chemical reaction
but plain and simple admiration..

please don't see me too conceited
my eyes that have met yours have decided
there it was, vague, not absolute
but enough to leave me blue yet breathless..

maybe you just know this is quite wrong
if only i could go back to the day my life met yours
i never would have wanted anything to blossom
so i never have to measure a fathom..

i was left in a dark and lifeless life
yet yours has always been happy and bright
i should have envied the lives of you both
but i rather stand straight, face this world alone..

that was just a plain and simple hello
that was how there came the so-called me and you
call me blind, stupid-
but never will i regret the moments with you, oh so candid..

all those i could see before will be gone
there could have been more that could be done
but the plain and simple me
will always look up to the prestigious you..
