Anguish Poem by deborah mae lacay

Anguish

leave me a loser, leave me worthless
take everything with you, so with my senses
take the love away as you wish
but don't leave me in all the pain and anguish..

it may sound so absurd
vision just seems so blurred
when i couldn't take it anymore
i thought a tear could wash the dirt from crust to core..

but the bitterness and ill-taste of it remain
what once was sweet is now different from the cane
it's something you would not dare taste
though somehow you just wouldn't waste..

spit it out and free yourself from mental torture
i wanna go out and find myself a cure
how ironic-
the very cure i'm looking for is the cause of all this panic..

if only i could go on without you-
why not, all the while there was only one and not two
there was only me in this crowded earth
just then you came and changed my life from birth..

i didn't know what were you up to
i was so drowned to ever think of what you're only supposed to do
now the memories of it have long been gone
yet i think there's still a lot to be done..

anguish has taken its place where i never intended to allow
seems that it's enjoying its stay no matter how
misery must have been planning to stay too
but you can never leave me into pieces, that i assure you..
