Pilgrimage Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Pilgrimage

Pilgrimage

Was reading a poem
Sort of a pilgrimage,
To the life and visions
Of a race and their faith.

Saw Pablo Neruda
Digging in history
Of the mountains,
Earth and Salt …

Came to me my father
With belief and his faith,
His efforts to teach me
"My best son and seeker…"
He said with request…

Wanted me to go and
Find path of Abraham,
"Go for God's Pilgrimage
See acts of Abraham
That replaced the Idols…"

I met God in the books
Of Torah to Koran
We smiled and shook hands,
Not hard, like the Natives:
"Not to show power but
To share the kindness heat
Recognise and respect…"

Dad left life and is gone!

Am near Dad's death age,
Away is Abraham,
Will meet him?

No, never, not ever!

Kicked his butt, this liar
Misguides and pretends,
Found him racist, selfish!

Dad, sorry, am sorry!

Will not meet Abraham,
I know him far better,
Have read of his culture
Through his descendants.

Looks like pimp in mirror…

Always insufficient
Bad husband, brother
With greed, as target!

He observed his woman,
Sleep with Egyptians…

Abraham not for me
Yes, Daddy am Sorry!

I see you frowning…

Please
Please
My Daddy
Forgive and
Be happy
I respect honesty
And say it as it is
To avoid lie, hiding!

Like Jalal, I too may…

Go for a pilgrimage
To visit the hot girls!

The heat of Hejaz girls
Is full of excitement.

"They are thieves, "
Jalal says:
"With the eyes, behaviours
Steal mind and conscious! "
