Photo Of Mother And Child Poem by Rodrigo Diaz

Photo Of Mother And Child

What words to frame such beauty?
What words to paint such love?
A devastating type of love,
That makes life seem worthless
If it were ever to be lost.

In the photograph she holds a child.
Her brown hair drapes
Around perfect eyes and pouting lips.
Lips that sigh that restive love
Of a mother with babe in arms.
Eyes that pierce and burn the soul,
Consuming all with unfaltering love.

What lips! What eyes! What love!
I wrest my gaze
Before they burst my heart.

I share such love with her.
The madding type of love,
A ravenous whirlwind of desire
To set her body and soul afire,
Consume them, and melt them to my heart.
