Pharaoh's Razor Sharpener Poem by Paul Hartal

Pharaoh's Razor Sharpener

Being a skeptic, when I first heard about it
I smiled in disbelief. Pharaoh's, what?
You've got to be kidding!
Really? A pyramid can sharpen razors?

Well, it seems that it can.
As you probably know, the famous
Great Cheops Pyramid of Pharaoh Khufu,
a 5,000 years old ancient royal tomb
in Gaza, rises from the sands
on the west bank of the Nile, near Cairo
in Egypt.

However, in order to sharpen your razor
you don't need to travel all the way
to the Great Pyramid.

A small model of it will suffice, as placing
the razor inside the tiny pyramid will restore
the keen cutting edge of the blunted blade
to its former glory.

And as it turns out, in the 1950s
an engineer named Karel Drbal of Prague,
received in fact in the former Czechoslovakia
patent No.91309 for a small model
of the Great Cheops Pyramid
that sharpens blunted blades.

Moreover, scientist Lyall Watson, PhD,
checked out this device and in his book,
"Supernature" (1973) , he says
that it works amazingly well, indeed.
