Phantoms Of The Past Poem by jyoti saxena

Phantoms Of The Past

Rating: 5.0

Why does a shadow always eclipse
The brightest and the sunniest of days
Just when everything seems right
Another shadow appears in sight
And so here we are
Haunted by phantoms of the past
Each plagued by memories
that refuse to depart
Each loving the other
Yet too proud to let the other know
The depth of love felt
Or too scared perhaps
of seeing your proud heart melt!
Whatever,
the shadow remains
Dimming the light of today.
Funny!
how dark, brooding
featureless shapes
exercise such control over us
And how we love to bask
Under its canopy so dark.

Jyoti, this is a very beautiful poem. Shadows coming of and on, enhance the joy of warmth! Isnt it? I liked this mellowed tone u used for this poem, very impressive indeed.

Jyoti, very well written! Our life remains a color of many blends, as we keep swinging between shadow and substance! -Raj Nandy

The more night gets dark, the more sun gets brighter in the morning. This is a beautiful, light poem. With a very important message. Thanks a lot for sharing Jyoti Ji 10
