Ph: Poetry Writing: I Have Done Verse

Oh what is my life without you Poetry
And how could my love be in season,
All those hearts that you touch
(For your words say so much) ,
Without you could Science find reason?
You are the strings on the harps Angels play
You are my drink in the heat of the day,
My consolation when I lose my way,
Beauty that tells me what God has to say...
Only you Poetry, only you!

Oh what is my life without you Poetry?
Let me live in the light of your charm,
Your muse so much brighter
Makes everything lighter,
Your wisdom the soil that I farm.
What pulls me from sleep in the darkness of night,
What offers assurance I’ll see morning light,
What brings me the courage when I have to fight
And who would I be without voice, ears and sight?
Only you Poetry, only you!

O this is so touching and full of passion. Indeed, poetry has been a major source of our happiness as poets. I am particularly happy for knowing that, my senior -BJ loves poetry even more than I do! ? I love this piece! O poetry, how poetic thy name sounds!

yes, brian, you have done verse, AND you HAVE done WORSE as well. :) “Oh what is my life without you Poetry” ………… you don’t know? cake, pie, ice cream, cookies, pastries, candy, ice creamf, pizza; ………did I say ICE CREAM! ! ? favorite lines so far: “You are the strings on the harps Angels play You are my drink in the heat of the day, My consolation when I lose my way, ” you ARE talkin’ ‘bout me, right? another favorite line: “Your wisdom the soil that I farm.” ……. and it even rhymes with an earlier line, ….in case ya didn’t notice! “What pulls me from sleep in the darkness of night, ” ……..when I was last “single”/not married and starting my poetry-writing-part of my life, Poetry DID pull me from sleep several nights; I’d have ideas I HAD to write down (while sitting on the toilet) before I lost them. but, NOW, hitched again, Poetry had better NOT pull me from my sleep! the toilet, however, does still pull me. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - these two lines*** together baffle me. perhaps you were starting to fall asleep at 4: 20 a.m.? ? yeah, that’s it. you, my friend, were tired. *** [And who would I be without voice, ears and sight? Only you Poetry, only you! ] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ok, a good one for the November showcase, Section B, I believe. thanks. bri :)
