Ph: Poetry: Strong Opinions Poem by Brian Johnston

Ph: Poetry: Strong Opinions

It's TRUE I offer strong opinions,
They do not mean I KNOW you're wrong,
I do not threaten you with minions,
I charge no fee to hear my song.

Experience a dicey teacher,
It often leads us all astray,
Our dirty laundry, a blind preacher
That hungers for the light of day.

So if my poems are offensive,
(And dirty clothes quite often smell) ,
Tell me! (But why make me defensive?)
Please open up your heart as well.

For open hearts can still find refuge,
From life's more destructive urges,
Do not waste your time in subterfuge,
Risk in love! See what emerges!

And if you can show me some mercy,
(Surely you want that for yourselves?)
This precept cause no controversy….
Give others what we want ourselves!

Poet's Notes:
If you would like to give this poem a rating, please do so in a comment that is separate from your regular comment if you leave one. Many poets, including myself, have been experiencing visits from hard to identify PH members who like to damage other's poem's ratings with illegal multiple votes of 1.0 and make a mockery out of normal voting. You voting in a comment field helps me to protect your rating of my poem which they wish to destroy. I know that this is a bit of extra work for you, but believe me it is appreciated.

Well said! All constructive criticism is good! For this is how we learn! Anything else is most often just a moment of someone's bad day! (Trying to remain positive!) Lol.

Your writing pleased me too much, excellent rhyming and sublime opinion.
