Peer Pressure, According To The Diary Of Moxy Hunter Poem by Chaz Walker

Peer Pressure, According To The Diary Of Moxy Hunter

Because you asked me
To dig a hole in the earth, I did
And saw The Great Wall of China!

Because you dared me to,
I kicked off my sandals in the Nairobi Desert
And drank that quart
Of 10W-30 motor oil.

Because you wished me to
Never be late for work
I constructed a bedroom in the stockroom.
Clock me in!

Because you asked me to,
Because you inspired me to,

Because you tempted me
To bite the shiny green apple, I did.
Then we went shopping
For clothes at Target.

Because you tricked me
Into doing your homework,
You’ll never know which congress
Abolished prohibition!

Because you forced me to
Think for myself
I bought a pair of doves
And taught them to sing philosophy.

Because you asked me to,
Because you dared me to,
Because you challenged me to
Wrestle a black bear in the forest,

No one has seen me since!
