Peace For Iraq Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

Peace For Iraq

Rating: 5.0

All quiet along the Tigris - Euphrates today,
No explosions save the rush of the river,
While Muslims gather at mosques to mourn
And profoundly pray for a peace they revere.

All factions should greet each morning freely
And breathe the air and thankful to be alive,
With the introduction of a sweet sound
Like the hum of bees near their busy hive.

The cradle could be a pleasant place now
Where everyone can live, work, and sing
With joy and a pleasant, smiling face
And never be fearful of anything.

If the instruments of peace can be restored,
Members of the religious sects will be relieved
To initiate action for a stable Iraq.
Hopefully - the efforts to unite will be believed.
