Patchwork Quilt Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Patchwork Quilt

Saddened thoughts being placed like a patchwork
quilt upon a bed where death had just dared to
take the one I loved so much.

Keep wondering what I'd done wrong through the
years to make him go willingly to the other side
of the black curtains of death.

Tears crystally sliding into depths of a yesterday
together that will never be again, not sure if it
was worth it, but knowing it was in reality.

Despite that this love ended in death, your poem expresses a sense that it was worth it, just by filling your thoughts- complex, strange and riveting poem: sad but filled with feeling and connection and honesty.
