Passing Over Poem by John Griffiths

Passing Over

I can see your light is fading,
It will soon be time to go.
So let yourself be taken,
To where you have to go.

The pain that you’ve endured,
Will be left upon the bed.
As you go towards your freedom,
Don’t look back, just straight ahead.

I will grieve for you my darling,
And the tears will easily flow.
Please wait for me on your side,
When my time comes you will know.

This poem is dedicated to my wife Valerie, who went over peacefully after a long drawn out illness on 19th January 2002
