# Parting Is Not Sweet Sorrow Poem by Sonya Florentino

# Parting Is Not Sweet Sorrow

Rating: 5.0

In the fading light I watch you wave goodbye

As shadows fall upon you I cry

As the dark of night descends

I lay my heavy head

And pray, dear God

Bring him back, my breath!

Or take me now

For I’m as good as dead

Verse full of feeling and love. How can one be alive when 'breath' is gone? But God is compassionate He listens to all our prayers and takes care of us accordingly. Trueand sincere love and longing will be rewarded.
