Parallel Paths Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Parallel Paths

Stretching in all directions at once, curious as to what lies in
each one, sauntering down lanes of many dusty trails left over
from yesterday's western frontier.

Searching for a long lost heart, once we were together through
everything, then somehow we separated, going down paths that
were parallel to what we once had.

Through the years, sharing news what we'd been doing in life,
talking, reminiscing of all the yesterdays that we've missed
through the years.

Wishing we could've stayed as one, now living lives miles a-
part from one another, wishing left within our hearts that
we could once again be together.

Now, a long way from where we used to be, with no way back
because life has come to an end and we will never be able
to even talk again.
