Paradox Poem by Mugdha Kusray

Paradox

I try to conceal
The twinge in my heart,
And the sorrows within,
Masquerading illusions with-
Grins and giggles,
Charades of joy,
And masks of calm.

Alas, the mask has become nothing,
But a part of me,
Inalienable and clingy,
Refusing to let go.
To remove it would mean-
Removing a fragment of my soul.

I guess it's human nature to wear the mask. A well articulated piece of poetry nicely penned with insight. Thanks for sharing.
