Paradise Lost Poem by Ima Ryma

Paradise Lost

I found myself in paradise,
Hanging out with angels above.
For me it was too high a price
To have to always be in love.
To understand love did require
That there be hate also as choice.
For love I had little desire,
And so I came to heed hate's voice
Telling me that with hate I could
Have any and all I did yearn,
Which was all bad and nothing good,
And so I was the first to burn.

God said, as from heaven I fell,
'Lucifer, you can go to hell.'
