Paper Heart Poem by Hope Franks

Paper Heart

going through memories of us
in this now dull mind of mine
you scream and yell insults
but ive shut you out
desperately searching for the moment
that everything went wrong
then analyzing it wondering if I could have stopped it
I wonder if you remember all the things that I do
when the skies weren't all grey around us
pictures are living proof that our life together was once happy
what if I left? would you be ok without me?
would it be ok if I took this paper heart away from you?
I hate this part the silence as the tears
flow going unseen by your heart
how did we end up here
how did you become a demon
someone I don't know
I just cant reach out to tell you
what my heart screams so loudly
but does it really matter anymore
I hate this part
i'm taking my paper heart
goodbye love
