Paint Me Poem by Rebekah Wooten

Paint Me

Rating: 5.0

Paint me on fire
Paint me my most vibrant
In orange, yellow, red
Before I give in to the sigh of the wind
Paint me aflame
Nameless and unafraid
Paint me flying and barely alive
Captured by the harsh autumn air
Paint me October
Paint me an intoxicated sober
Paint me like it's over
Paint me unstateable
Paint me passionate and irrelevant
Paint me unstable
Like an abstract -mislabeled
Paint me like a daydream
A forgotten fable
Paint me shivering
In midquiver
An excited copper
An angry hornet yellow
Before I blow away
Shriveled up and somber
Unknown and
Unportrayed
Paint me ember-
Burning like the noble death of October
