Pain Poem by Reginald Ruwende

Pain

That scything scathing sensation evoked when assailed
Rather an incisive infliction of affliction
The pinch!
Thence the twinge

Pain is rejection
Pain is dejection
Pain is deception
Pain is a perception

When all but you brand you Feeble
When in actual fact you have had to bear
A hefty portion of different proportions

When that palpable sense of hope
Boomerangs into remnants of a pipe dream
The shreds, so difficult to gather
The pain, so difficult to bear

When none but you cant fathom you out
None interested in being interested in your interests
Nonentity you remain till you breathe your last
Pondering why its them that laugh last

Echoes of a heart writhing in pain
Pounding in peripheries of painstaking disdain
Reprieve and retrieval thus far in vain
