Pageantry Of Progress! Poem by C. Muralidara Kannan

Pageantry Of Progress!

Sweet service succumbs to
sudden slaughter as brutal
business bumps into the
busy walks of ethereal life.

Farm fresh love
and happiness is for sale with
formidable discounts
delivered at your doorsteps.
Hai, consumer, consume them
and get consumed.

Impatience marred ripening
harvests natural, yielding
it's restless way to heavy
production beyond consumption, quality quietly queued in the
quarantine of cul de sac.

Bonds emotional sounded
eternal relationship, turns
a mere coming together
like meeting, mingling and
parting, boasting no hassles.

Self-made Intellect, ridiculed by
Intelligence and information
silenced and is shut up in a
sickening solitary confinement.

Intelligence industry sports
a power, to its power of infinity.
What a pageantry of Progress!

Lethargy legitimized and
Assumed absolute liberty
poses its perennial question,
'Who cares? '

Original skills, talents and creativity muted and mutilated to the margin as
fakes favour their forceful
fusion to the fulcrum
backed by coin or crown.

You could always hear
This admonition:
'Adamant defaulters refraining from joining this main stream are liable to be punished under the law of replacement.'
