Ostentatious Flowers Poem by Alex Deacon

Ostentatious Flowers

Rating: 5.0

Dare I write a love poem?
Loving you is easy
Dare I continue?
Love is a rose
The blood red colour
Is the passion
And symbolises the oil
And liquor of the relationship
The thorn is the stab in your heart
When love is broken
The green stem is the jealous fool
The roots are the ones who suck you dry
And anchor you to the Earth
Love gives you a bitter truth of life
Yet you do not have life without love
