Original Endeavor Poem by Rodney Dufault

Original Endeavor

I write these rhymes with such minimal effort
that you could say that I'm a syllable expert.
My topics range from my ugly criminal record
to things more strange like unpredictable weather;
How sometimes I feel like the lonliest individual ever.
Sometimes I'm even feeling those biblical excerpts;
Like how my wife is my Ark, my unsinkable shelter.
I love her so much. She's not your typical treasure.
The love I have for her is unconditional, unfettered.
Without her here life would hold no additional pleasure.
The world to me would be an unhospitable desert.
Then, everything that I wrote would be unprintable errors.
Every single keystroke would bring more digital terrors.
I'm a fighter, but I did the unthinkable; Surrender.
I'm so happy that I did, for we're invincible together.
Sixteen years and still stickin' to our original endeavor.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Wife and I just had 17 year anniversary, and this was something I wrote around our last anniversary, so I'm posting it. Kind of sucks because she's so great, and she knows how I still feel so lonely even with her by my side forever. Hope I can find a way to make it better. Thanks for reading.
