Only for a moment we walk upon this Earth
With a heartbeat we are born, without one we reach death
The time we have to blossom, to live a life that's full
It may seem like forever, but it's only minuscule.
In that fraction of a moment we'll be happy, we'll be sad
We'll have the best and worst of times that we have ever had.
The best will be the joyful times with family and friends
The worst will be when the life of a dearly loved one ends.
For them a new beginning, for us a time to grieve
But remember, just a heartbeat before we too can leave.
