Only Allowing Lessons To Be Learned Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Only Allowing Lessons To Be Learned

Moments of our lives go quickly through the years,
not concerned with any of our experiences, trials,
or sacrifices.

Only allowing lessons to be learned, not really
interested in them either, accumulating birthdays,
celebrations, special occasions, and holidays.

Then we enter our senior years, not knowing how much
longer we may have left, just doing the best we can,
holding onto our morals, ethics, values and rule of law.

We seem to be the last generation to do so, we've brought
our children up right, they are now the oldest generation,
many still sticking with what we've taught them.

Those who have not kept the Ten Commandments gave in to
alcohol, sex and drugs, now lost, having no real place in
society.

They'll be outcasts without purpose, losing both family
and friends, unless they decide to help themselves before
it becomes to late.
