Only A Dessert Flower Poem by Sylvia Lukeman

Only A Dessert Flower

Rating: 5.0

Sitting reading love poems
Oh! the power of the spoken word;
verbal murmurings of love unleashed
to think they may never be heard

the strength of someones longing
captured on the page
still cannot convey the feelings felt
not even by the wisest sage.

emptiness, longing and a need so d e e p
for the touch of a loved ones hand;
only a dessert flower could tell
of such a parched and thirsty land

but Oh! love has beauteous moments
when thirst is slakes at long l a s t.
the pleasure of those precious moments
bury deep a sad and lonely past.
