One Reason Poem by Robert Sheridan

One Reason

Victim’s display
Cause and effect
Specific action
Shortened delay
Motive – never
ever heaven sent
Was her doing
Now I’m leaving
She can’t give me
one reason for
staying, so I’m
saying goodbye
Will not see a
reoccurrence –
not now, not
ever; I want to
remain in a
normal mental
state – she will
not be able to
dissuade me;
Left her high
and dry, and now
she’s crying;
Serves her right
Tried to use her
Christian body
to tell the truth
But all I ever
heard were lies;
Now I’m back
looking for a
miracle in God’s
world – anyone
out there that
I can trust?
