One Of These Days Poem by Ma Eugenia Carrasco

One Of These Days

One of these days I’ll let down everything for freedom:
What are you saying? You’re crazy!
Why?
You can’t be that insensitive?

Of course! I forgot you were only bones, what can we expect
From someone who only counts on his organs to live.
Boring.
Program yourself! We are in the 2k.

Everything’s all right, we feel the air-conditioning,
The freshness and coldness are the best
For a natural hot climate
Which you should not feel, we’re in the 2k.

What a wonderful trip in the Caribbean,
Caviar, champagne and friends.
God, I’m starving,
What is this?
I don’t understand what you say. Go away.

Your loneliness, your freedom, your life,
You can’t exchange them for love
Such a strange word!
I never get it
Can’t you explain it to me?

One of these days, would you have the guts to live?
Life takes you and time flies away.
Come, I’ll show you how it feels when there’s love,
I can’t I am from the 2k.

One of these days, I swear I’ll make up my mind
One of these days, when you’d did so; your bones would be dust.
Amen.
