One Of Rare Beauty Poem by Francis Duggan

One Of Rare Beauty

In her mid twenties withthe inner glow
Her wavy shoulder length hair dark as the wing of a crow
With dark brown eyes she looks so attractive to behold
A descendant of a race that in time is very old
To South Gippsland's first race of people she belong
A member of the tribe known as the Bunurong
The type of woman most men of wish to know
From the flat country where Tarwin crawls dark, deep and slow
As silently it winds it's sea going way
On towards the Pacific at Venus Bay
A beautiful young woman in her physical prime
Her sort the inspiration of song story and rhyme
Yet of her great beauty she does not seem aware
So down to earth her type nowadays so rare
