On The Minstrel Seat Poem by pedro moshood

On The Minstrel Seat

Rating: 5.0

Their eyes are blinded against the print
On Babylon wall until Hitler's rebirth
To bring back the Nazis' law against the Jews,
But only the Maggie will see the stars ahead.
There I am without my path or theirs to take.
II
The time will come they shall feast and seat
In the Uganda cannibal martinet banquet
And demand the prophets' heads in platters.
And kiss and mutilate their Messiahs for gold.
There I'll be aloof and not point out their faults
III
The cruel will see the innocents,
Then hark their boys not in Bethlehem
But end the Messiah second coming prophesy
And baptize their civil hands with civil blood.
There I will cry but rejoice as no participant.
IV
Their eyes will see the promise scene;
They will welcome civilization, forget their heroic seed,
Their civil blood and invest in death field.
To live or not to live from dawn to dusk,
Here I am, a simple bearer of witness
To the broken fences, the rubbles and threat on the scene,
When the journey from Bethlehem
Is terminated in Golgotha.
