On My Own Poem by Dale Totten

On My Own

I once had someone,
I thought cared.
We laughed and loved,
and always shared.
Never one,
without the other.
Living life as one,
together.
But now I live,
my life alone.
By myself,
on my own.
My heart crushed,
into dust.
And blown away,
by my trust.
Never again
to recover.
Because forever,
I will love her.
