My Refuge Poem by Dale Totten

My Refuge

I fly away, yet one more time
To that other place, deep within my mind

Hidden in the middle of nowhere
A peaceful place, where I can share

My troubles, doubts, all of me
A restoration of my sanity

But soon I have to travel back
To the place, where I am under attack

Where evil lives, and is so strong
It's his domain, I don't belong

There's dead people walking all around
Their souls are captured, chained and bound

They claim that they are free
But they are blinded and can not see

It's all a part of his evil scheme
And things are not really what they seem

He owns their ears, with sweet, sweet lies
They love the sound, and don't realize

It's all a trap to snare their soul
Then when it's time for them to go

They are cast into a lake of fire
Where there's no escape, time will not expire

Forever and ever in misery
Gnashing teeth, pain and agony

So we continue in the war
Telling them that there is more

In hope that they will one day see
The truth and they will then believe

Till then, when I get down
And need a lift, I have found

There's refuge in that other place
I fly away upon his grace

I meet with him and pour out my heart
I'm reassured and ready to start....

Again and again and again ><>
