On My Own Poem by Courtney Casebolt

On My Own

Rating: 5.0

Can we just forget about our mistakes?
I only needed one chance
To let go of my past
I only needed a single chance
To make this last
Our chance is far too gone

So I sit here alone
On my own
On the phone
Trying to convince you to come back home

You seem so happy holding her tight
If only you knew how much
I wanted you with me tonight
If wishing to touch your skin is a sin
Then I’ve sinned again and again
You invade my dreams
And make me wanna scream

So I’m sitting here alone
On my own
With the phone
Trying to find a way to get you back home

I just want to be a part of you
You’re always on my mind
I just can’t walk away from you
I’ve never told you any lies
And every time I look into your eyes
I fall in love again
All I’ve ever told you was the truth
But now all that’s left to say is goodbye
So I’ll stay here with my misery
My tears fall down like rain
I’ll watch the years go by
As I’m drowning in my pain

So I’m still sitting here alone
And I don’t wanna be on my own
So I’m hanging up the phone
And I could care less if you ever came back home.
