Oleander In Front Of Ioc Building 25.07.2013 Poem by Daniel Trevelyn Joseph

Oleander In Front Of Ioc Building 25.07.2013

A full grown Oleander tree
Seen at eye-level from skywalk,
Lovely leaves with yellow flowers
Trumpet-like and drop of nectar at end.

My mind jumped to Leander
And Christopher Marlowe
Whoe'er loved that loved not at first sight?
Long because of ten syllables and truth.

The only line that Shakespeare 'quoted'
Not able to recall fast where he used it
Search in his 'Venus and Adonis'
Then it struck me maybe in As You Like It.

Yes, I saw the play on my iPad
And on search with the lens
On right-hand top corner, I found
The line in Act III Scene V.
